Murkowski Criticizes Interior Department for Canceling Cook Inlet Lease Sale

During an Interior-Environment Appropriations Subcommittee Hearing on the Interior Budget Request for FY 2023, Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) criticized the Department over its decision to cancel an offshore oil and gas lease sale in Cook Inlet. Cook Inlet provides a major share of Southcentral Alaska’s energy, and the Department canceled the sale despite clearly-expressed industry interest in new leasing.
