Senator Murkowski’s Memorial Day Message
U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) released the following message in observance of Memorial Day.
“For so many of us, Memorial Day is the unofficial beginning of summer. In Alaska, it means sunlight nearly all day, time to enjoy the great outdoors with our friends and family. But let’s all keep in mind what this day is really about. Memorial Day is a time to remember those who so valiantly defended our freedoms and the land that we love and to honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
“This Memorial Day, let us reflect on the brave men and women of our armed services who have chosen to serve this great country. Remember their spouses, their children and their families. Take a moment to recognize those whose daily sacrifices give us the freedom to enjoy the season, and pay tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we may be a free nation. We are forever grateful.”
