Senator Murkowski Statement on Senator John McCain
U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) issued the following statement on the passing of Senator John McCain (R-AZ):
“American hero, remarkable intellect, iron will, and unquestionable integrity—those are just some of the words that come to mind when I think of Senator John McCain. He was one who always did what he thought was right and motivated others to do likewise. I have been blessed to serve in the US Senate with him for the past 16 years and will dearly miss my friend and colleague.
“Today we mourn the loss of a true American hero. No matter your politics, John McCain embraced what it was to serve not only his country, but all those in America. His contributions are numerous and will have a lasting impact for generations. My thoughts and prayers are with Cindy and the entire McCain family as well as those in Arizona that he served for so many years.”
