Senator Murkowski Announces 2020 Military Academy Nominations

30 Young Alaskans Have Demonstrated Their Willingness to Serve

Today U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) proudly announced the names of 30 young Alaskans she nominated to the U.S. military service academies for the class of 2024.

“It’s an honor to nominate these exceptional young men and women to attend our military service academies. These bright and determined Alaskans have worked hard to excel in all areas, and I deeply appreciate their willingness to serve,” said Senator Murkowski. “I wish each of the nominees well as their application process continues. I look forward to seeing their bright futures unfold.”

U.S. military service academy nominees are selected based on their academic record, extracurricular activities, and leadership capacity. Though a congressional nomination to a service academy is an accomplishment within itself, it does not guarantee admission; service academies will make final decisions.
