Senate Confirms General Brown as Air Force Service Chief
U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) issued the following statement after the Senate unanimously confirmed General Charles Q. Brown, Jr. as the next U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff:
“I am proud to support the confirmation of General Charles Brown, Jr. as the next Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force. He not only made history today as becoming the first African American Air Force Chief of Staff, but I trust that he will lead the men and women in our nation’s Air Force with great distinction. His understanding of the importance of the Arctic and Alaska’s vital role in national security is a tremendous asset to our state and nation. The importance of the Air Force to Alaska cannot be understated as we work to further strengthen our nation’s defense capabilities and ensure we are utilizing Alaska’s geo-strategic location. I look forward to continuing to work with him as he transitions into this new role.”
