Murkowski Welcomes Second Session Summer Interns

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, has welcomed her second group of summer interns to her Washington, D.C., office.  These young Alaskans will observe both the operations of a fast-paced Senate office and the legislative process from an up-close view.

 

For the second session, Murkowski has welcomed Anne Bartholomew, Juneau; Dana Betts, Copper Center; Cameron Henton, Anchorage; Parker Haymans, Anchorage; Samuel Horton, Kodiak; Ealum Howe, Fairbanks; Kalli Kline, Ketchikan; Kyle Marston, Anchorage; Sharon Merritt, Goodnews Bay; Miles Reader, Nome and Kyle Worl of Anchorage.

 

“These young Alaskans arrive in Washington with energy and enthusiasm as they witness the work of the Senate first hand,” Murkowski said. “I enjoy having interns in my office and my staff and I greatly appreciate their contributions. So many professionals in public service today, including myself, can trace their careers back to their internships.”

 

Murkowski’s summer interns are recent high school graduates who assist in the day-to-day clerical and administrative tasks within the office such as directing mail and assisting staff with research projects. Each day, two interns “shadow” Senator Murkowski in her daily work around the Capitol in order to obtain a first-hand view of Senator Murkowski in action.
