Murkowski Welcomes Nomination of Dan Brouillette to be Secretary of Energy
U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, today released the following statement after President Trump announced he would nominate Dan Brouillette to be Secretary of the Department of the Energy (DOE).
“Dan is a great choice to be Secretary of Energy and I strongly support his nomination. I have enjoyed working with him as Deputy Secretary, appreciate his visits to Alaska, and have every confidence that he will excel in this new role,” Murkowski said. “Once we receive his nomination and paperwork, we will proceed with a hearing so that we can confirm him as soon as possible.”
Brouillette currently serves as DOE’s Deputy Secretary. The Senate confirmed him to that role with strong bipartisan support on August 3, 2017.
Murkowski is chairman of the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
