Murkowski Welcomes New Alaska Communications Director
Andrea Gusty Joins Senator’s Anchorage Staff
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Lisa Murkowski today announced Alaskan journalist Andrea Gusty is joining her staff as the Communications Director for Alaska.
“Andrea is going to be a tremendous help in keeping Alaskans connected to the work of my office in Washington, DC, -- and vice versa,” Murkowski said. “She has been serving Alaska for years through her reporting, and her commitment to the issues facing our state will continue in her new role.”
Originally from Aniak, Gusty comes to Sen. Murkowski’s office from CBS 11 News in Anchorage, where she worked as an evening news anchor and lead investigative reporter for six years. Gusty is a graduate of Northwestern University with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, and returned home after college to help raise awareness of issues in Alaska.
Gusty will work out of Sen. Murkowski’s Anchorage office.
