Murkowski Welcomes Kaleb Froehlich Back to Team as Chief of Staff
Announces Promotions and Departures
Today U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) welcomed Kaleb Froehlich back to her team in Washington, D.C. as her Chief of Staff and announced the promotion of Garrett Boyle to Deputy Chief of Staff.
“I am excited to welcome Kaleb back to my team,” said Senator Murkowski. “He has spent much of his career working on behalf of Alaskans and has a deep passion for our state. Kaleb’s previous experience and strong work ethic will help us achieve many successes for Alaska.”
Kaleb Froehlich will become Senator Murkowski’s Chief of Staff. Kaleb is a born and raised Alaskan from Juneau. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern California and his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. From 2009-2014, Kaleb served as Senior Counsel to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee under Sen. Murkowski.
“I am also pleased to announce that Garrett Boyle will be promoted to Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Counsel,” said Senator Murkowski. “Garrett’s steady shepherding of our legislative agenda as my Legislative Director has been both invaluable to the team and made the difference securing critical policy wins for Alaska.”
Boyle received his bachelor’s degree from Seattle University and is a graduate of Tulane University School of Law. He was raised in small towns throughout Alaska, including Ouzinkie, Unalakleet, and Seward. Prior to joining Senator Murkowski’s staff, he ran his own business dealing with oil and gas and patent law issues, and served as an extern in the Eastern District of Louisiana while in law school.
“I am blessed to able attract young Alaskans who want to serve their state in Washington to my office,” said Senator Murkowski. “But we all know Alaska is home and there comes a time when it is time to go home. I want to thank Michael Pawlowski – Fish – for his years of service to Alaska as my Chief of Staff. I know he will continue working for a better Alaska in his new venture but we will all miss his counsel and efforts in Washington.”
Michael Pawlowski joined the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee as a Senior Policy Advisor in 2015 after serving in various positions at all levels of State Government. Better known to many Alaskans as simply “Fish,” Pawlowski has served as Senator Murkowski’s Chief of Staff since January 2016. Michael recently announced his intent to return to Alaska to partner with former State Senator Jerry Mackie in a new venture, Strategy North Group.
