Murkowski Votes to Confirm New FBI Director
U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) released the following statement after voting to confirm Christopher Wray as the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation:
“Christopher Wray has distinguished himself both as an outstanding federal prosecutor and a preeminent criminal defense attorney. He was reported out of the Senate Judiciary Committee on a bipartisan vote of 20-0, a level of support that reflects the confidence that Senators have in his skill and integrity. The 92-5 confirmation vote on the Senate floor is a strong indication that the entire Senate shares this confidence. I had the opportunity to visit with Mr. Wray in my office where we discussed the challenges of law enforcement in Alaska, in particular drug trafficking, human trafficking, and the difficulties of policing our rural areas. I hope to host Mr. Wray in Alaska sometime in the near future.”
