Murkowski to Hold Field Hearing in Fairbanks

U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, today announced that the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee will hold a field hearing on Monday, March 28 to examine opportunities to create jobs and strengthen national security from increased Alaska resource development. The hearing will be held in Fairbanks at the Pipeline Training Center and feature testimony from a dozen stakeholders from across Alaska.

“Alaska is blessed with vast natural resources that we can use to fulfill the promises of statehood and gain prosperity for our state. Particularly in recent years, however, our ability to responsibly develop our resources has been dramatically limited, and that is now taking a toll on both our state and the rest of our country,” Murkowski said. “This hearing is a great opportunity to hear directly from Alaskans who know the benefits that would come from increased resource production and who know what needs to be done at the federal level to unleash our potential.”
