Murkowski Speaks Against Protect Internet Protocol Act (PIPA) Legislation
WASHINGTON, D.C. – With a Senate vote scheduled for next week on the Protect Internet Protocol Act (PIPA) – that would prohibit U.S. Internet users from accessing foreign websites that don’t respect U.S. intellectual property laws – Senator Murkowski today spoke of her intentions:
“PIPA was envisioned as a way to fight intellectual property theft online, but the bill raises serious concerns about our civil liberties. That’s why next week I plan to oppose the current PIPA bill.”
