Murkowski on Rob Heun's Confirmation as U.S. Marshall for Alaska
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The United States Senate tonight confirmed by unanimous consent former Anchorage Police Chief Rob Heun as the U.S. Marshal for Alaska. Following is a statement from U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, congratulating Chief Heun.
"President Obama could not have picked a more appropriate man for the job. Law enforcement is a team sport. It works best when federal, state and local agencies are on the same page. Nobody knows this better than Rob Heun who spent 23 years on the Anchorage Police Department rising through the ranks from street cop to Chief. I am confident that Rob Heun knows what we need to make urban and rural Alaska safer. He will effectively leverage federal resources to meet our diverse public safety challenges.
"I was pleased that Chief Heun's confirmation went through the Senate so quickly, and he now stands ready to serve Alaskans in this significant position."
