Murkowski Leads Video Office Tour for Alaska Day
WASHINGTON, D.C. – In celebration of Alaska Day 2009, U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, invites Alaskans to take a video tour of her office via her official YouTube page.
Sending greetings from her Washington D.C. office, Murkowski shares with viewers some of the Alaska art on loan to her office, as well as some personal items from Alaska that are of special significance.
“Not all Alaskans can make the trip to Washington and visit me in person, and I cannot make it home as often as I would like,” said Sen. Murkowski. “This year for Alaska Day, I wanted to share with viewers some of the wonderful items that bring a welcoming reminder of home.”
Alaska Day was October 18, 2009.
On her tour, Sen. Murkowski guides visitors through her office as they see a Tlingit carving entitled ‘Raven Steals the Sun,’ a totem pole on loan from Sealaska and some Alaska Native dolls belonging to Sen. Murkowski. Also on the tour is Walter, a 63 lbs king salmon Sen. Murkowski caught while fishing on the Kenai in July 2006.
Sen. Murkowski’s video tour can be found on her official YouTube page, as well as on her official website, https://www.murkowski.senate.gov.
