Murkowski Invites Alaskans To Join “#MyAKTree” Campaign
Senator Wants Alaskans to Showcase Their Christmas Spirit Online
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Lisa Murkowski today announced the “#MyAKTree” holiday campaign, inviting Alaskans to share pictures of their household Christmas trees on her Facebook page and via her Twitter account.
“We do everything bigger in Alaska – whether it’s the hefty trees many of us chop down and take home to decorate, or the festive spirit we display through the holiday season,” said Murkowski. “I’m always talking up Alaskans to my Senate colleagues from the lower 48, so I’m encouraging everyone online to help me back that talk up via the social media tools we have at hand.”
Senator Murkowski would like to invite Alaskans to post your best Christmas tree picture on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/SenLisaMurkowski?sk=wall, or via Twitter through @lisamurkowski, using the hashtag “#MyAKTree.” Once photos have been submitted, fans can “like” photos on Facebook, or re-Tweet photos on Twitter. Many trees will be featured in an album on Flikr, with the top five trees be featured on Christmas Eve.
