“On November 18th, we celebrate the birthday of Ted Stevens - he would have been 89 years old this year. Here at Arlington we remember Ted and his life of service to our country, to the state of Alaska, to his family.
“A great man who did wonderful things that will live beyond for decades and centuries into the future. Happy Birthday Ted, we miss you.”
Since his death in a plane crash in 2010, a mountain and ice field in Denali National Park have been named in honor of Ted Stevens, the Joint Mobility Complex at Eielson Air Force Base was dedicated and renamed in honor of Stevens over the summer, and the next U.S. Navy warship will also bear his name.
