Murkowski Honors Longtime Staffer Sherrie Slick
Senator Praises Ketchikan's "Energizer Bunny" on Senate Floor
WASHINGTON, D.C. –In a speech on the U.S. Senate floor this afternoon, Senator Lisa Murkowski paid tribute to longtime staff member Sherrie Slick – Special Assistant in Senator Murkowski’s Ketchikan office — who is retiring at the end of the month after 25 years of service to the United States Senate. “Sherrie over the years has responded to tens of thousands of public and media inquiries, requests for help over everything from Social Security checks and visas to immigration documents, and listened to thousands of complaints over access to Alaska public lands and to objections to many federal regulations – far too many to count here. Through it all, Sherrie has been the proverbial “Energizer Bunny” – she has more enthusiasm, more energy than most people combined. She listens patiently; she works tirelessly to help all. She helps those Southeast residents and visitors deal with federal agencies and navigate federal red tape. On top of it all, in that extra time, she volunteers to help her community and state become a better place to live and raise a family.”
