Murkowski Statement on President’s Budget Request

Launches Appropriations Request Page

U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) issued the following statement after President Trump unveiled a budget blueprint for Fiscal Year 2021:

“The President’s request marks the start of the budget process and clearly outlines the administration’s priorities. Those of us in Congress will take those requests under consideration as we work to determine what programs to fund and at what levels. As an Appropriator, I look forward to moving through the Fiscal Year 2021 process in a manner that addresses a wide range of Alaska priorities.”

Following the President’s budget request, Senator Lisa Murkowski, a member of the Appropriations Committee, today launched the Appropriations Request form for Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21) is now available on her website.

Senator Murkowski will continue to honor the earmark moratorium enacted on February 1, 2011; however, she wants to hear directly from Alaskans to know and understand their needs in her role as a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and as Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee for Interior, Environment and Related Agencies. Murkowski will continue to solicit this information from communities across the state about federal programs and priorities through a request for the FY21 appropriations cycle. This information will be valuable as the Appropriations Committee works to set funding levels for a host of programs critical to Alaska.
